Synopsis Considered one
of the funniest plays ever written, this classic French farce is a masterpiece
of mistaken identities, slamming doors and revolving beds. Raymonde suspects her
innocent husband, Victor, of adulterous betrayal. To prove her suspicions, she
attempts to entrap her husband by sending him a steamy love note pretending to
be another woman and invites him to a rendezvous of promised passion in a seedy
hotel. The rendezvous turns into a madcap romp of misunderstanding when the
soused hotel porter has an uncanny resemblance to poor confused Victor.
