Synopsis Join us this December for Rodgers and
Hammerstein’s classic that follows Frauline Maria, a nun in training, who is
sent from a nearby convent to act as governess to the seven children of the
widowed Austrian aristocrat, Captain Georg Von Trapp. Despite a rocky beginning
with the family, she eventually wins the hearts of the children and their father
with love, joy, and the magic of music. With the impending Nazi occupation of
Austria, the family faces tough obstacles to their new found happiness. The play
is based on the true and and inspiring story of the Von Trapp Family Singers who
narrowly escaped in to Switzerland during the Nazi occupation of their homeland
and went on to perform their music around the world..
